I work in combinations of sterling, 18k and 22k gold. Always influenced by landscape and natural forms, my house is filled with collections of rocks, shells, pottery shards and other found objects whose shapes and colors have caught my eye during years of walks and travels. Recent work has been inspired by the subtle, repetitive forms found in the flora and wild grasses of the prairie. In miniaturizing a vast open landscape by creating these pieces of jewelry, I focus on details of my surroundings that might otherwise be easily overlooked. |
