Poetry is precision.
It is the form of language that I would most like my visual work to resemble.
A poetry that consists of simple phrases made simple by stripping it of all the unnecessary words.
The basic subjects: love, death, mourning.
The basic objects: tables, spoons, funnels, plums. The everyday
capable of extending itself into the poetic by way of metaphor.
Objects that are the substance of our daily existence
but when examined closely contain an entire world.
It is in this world that I begin to make. |
